Official Contest Rules

​

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED ($5 registration fee). ENTRY IN THIS CONTEST CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES. 

 

1.    ELIGIBILITY: The “Two Hundred Thousand Dollar ($200,000.00) SelfiesFun GRAND SELFIE CONTEST” (“Contest”) is open to all persons, subject to laws and regulations of their residency, who are at least eighteen (18) years of age. All posts and correspondence must be conducted in the English language. The SelfiesFun (“Sponsor”) officers, employees and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of the officers or employees are not eligible to participate in the Contest.  The term “immediate family” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren related by blood or marriage. 

 

2.    AGREEMENT TO RULES: By entering into this Contest, you (“Entrant”) agree to comply with all federal, state and local laws and be bound by these Official Contest Rules (“Rules”) and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited. The Entrant represents and warrants that Entrant meet the eligibility requirements. Entrants who do not meet the age requirement will be disqualified and their submissions will be void. The Sponsor reserves the right to make rules and Contest changes, including the contest dates. Further, Entrants understand and agree that the information submitted, including photographs, under this Contest becomes the Sponsor’s property. The Sponsor is not liable for any third party use of information submitted under this Contest. 

 

The Entrant must fulfill all Contest requirements, as specified, to win a prize. Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to the Rules or specifications may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Entries will be considered ineligible or disqualify if, at the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, they do not follow the directions described in these Rules, or if they contain language or images that are in any way threatening, abusive, offensive, defamatory, invasive of another’s person privacy, in breach of confidence, embarrassing to any person or likely to deceive any person, hateful, blasphemous, pornographic, or racially ethnically or otherwise objectionable or which constitutes or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offense or otherwise contrary to any law or appear contrary to the spirit of the Contest. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE RULES BY WINNER WILL RESULT IN WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF THE CONTEST, AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.

 

3.    CONTEST PERIOD: Contest starts on January 1, 2023. End date is established based on participation. Contest will end 30 days after registered contestants reach 100,000. Dates will be posted on the Facebook SelfiesFun Contest Group to group members.

 

The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries, printing errors, server unavailability, computer, or any other electronic malfunction or technical issues. The Sponsor’s clock is the official time keeping device of the Contest. The Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to allow for minor fluctuations between the timing of an entry and the actual runtime of the Contest.

 

4.    HOW TO ENTER: The entrant must compete the registration form through the registration link ($5 registration fee). Registration link will be provided when contest begins. Once registered, entrant will be provided with a registration number. 

 

To enter the contest, entrant must:

1. Click the “Share” button on the contest page at www.SelfiesFun.wix.com/contest & share on their Facebook timeline.

2. Go to the Facebook SelfiesFun Contest Group at www.facebook.com/groups/SelfiesFunContest: 

   • “Join” the Group and "Invite" their Facebook friends..

3. Register for the contest ($5 registration fee). Post their contest selfie(s) to the SelfiesFun Contest Facebook Group. Each selfie posted must include the entrant’s registration number in the description. Posted selfies without a valid registration number will not be eligible for prizes. Entrant may post more than one selfie.

 

Acceptable selfie post categories include: 

• • Ordinary

  • Unique

  • Funny

  • Sex appeal

  • Silly

  • Couple (straight male & female only)

  • Group

 

Unacceptable selfie post categories include:

• • Nude

  • Pornographic

  • Racisist

  • Offensive

  • Degrading

 

Any post conforming contrary to acceptable categories or including unacceptable material will be deleted. Multiple non-conforming posts by the same entrant will be cause for removal from the contest at the sole discretion of the Sponsor.

 

Entrant may not use multiple electronic mail (e-mail) addresses, identities, or devices in an attempt to circumvent the Rules. Use of fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the Rules, the Entrant submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of the Sponsor.

 

5.    PRIZES: At contest end, Winners will be selected, prizes will be awarded, and recognitions will be posted on the Facebook SelfiesFun Contest Group.

 

One thousand one hundred and three Winners will be chosen from the selfies with the most invites and comments who meet all Contest Rules. 

 

Conditional prizes are as follows:

 

• FIRST prize: $100,000.00

• TWO 2nd prizes: $25,000.00 each

• ONE HUNDRED 3rd prizes: $250.00 each

• ONE THOUSAND 4th prizes: $25 each

 

The goal of this contest is to achieve 100,000 registered contestants. If a condition exists where, by the end of six months from contest start date, registered contestants have not reached 100,000, a 30 day notice will go into effect to end the contest. Notices will be posted to SelfiesFun Contest Group members. This condition will constitute the following prize award adjustments:

 

• FIRST prize will be the equivalent of $1 for each registered contestant

• TWO 2nd prizes, which will be the equivalent of $0.25 for each registered contestant

• ONE HUNDRED 3rd prizes, which will be the equivalent of $0.0025 for each registered contestant

• ONE THOUSAND 4th prizes, which will be the equivalent of $0.00025 for each registered contestant

 

Limit one prize per winner, per household.  Other restrictions may apply. Prizes must be claimed in person, within seven (7) calendar days from the date award notification was sent. Receipt by winner of the prize offered in this Contest is conditioned upon compliance with any and all country, national, municipal and local laws and regulations. 

 

6.    WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION: The Sponsor will notify the winners by e-mail. Winners are required to respond as directed in the e-mail notification. Before claiming the prize, winners must provide a picture identification, proof of age and proof of residency to the Sponsor. The Sponsor reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented. The winner will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (the “Affidavit”) to be returned within seven (7) calendar days of written notification, or the prize may be forfeited. If a prize or prize notification is returned as unclaimed or undeliverable to a potential winner, if a potential winner cannot be reached within three (3) calendar days from the first notification attempt, or if a potential winner fails to return requisite documents within the specified time period, or if a potential winner is not in compliance with these Rules, then such person shall be disqualified. The winner may elect not to sign the Affidavit. However, refusal to sign the Affidavit constitutes rejection of the prize. At the Sponsor’s sole discretion, the Sponsor may or may not award the unclaimed or forfeited prize to other Entrants.

 

7.    REPRESENTATION: The Entrant represents and warrants that (i) the Entrant is at least eighteen (18) years of age; (ii) the Entrant owns the photographs submitted; (iii) the Entrant has obtained permission from each person whose name, image, or likeness (“Likeness”) included in the submitted photographs and that such person(s) have granted the Entrant all necessary rights to use the person’s Likeness and can provide copies of such written permissions to the Sponsor upon request; (iv) the photographs are the Entrant’s original work of authorship; and (v) the Entrant has not violated any third party’s proprietary or intellectual property rights. If the Entrant entry infringes upon the intellectual property right of another, Entrant will be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. If the content of the Entrant’s entry is claimed to constitute infringement of any proprietary or intellectual proprietary rights of any third party, the Entrant will, at his/her sole expense, defend or settle against such claims. 

 

8.    ODDS: The odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries received.

 

9.    TERMS & CONDITIONS: Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all country, national, municipal and local taxes and/or any other fees/costs associated with the receipt of any prize, will be the sole responsibility of the winner. Each winner is responsible for paying all country, national, municipal and local taxes on prizes as set forth in these rules. If requested, the winner will also be required to disclose his/her social security number and address via a Form W-9 for the purpose of issuance of a 1099 Form for tax purposes. No substitution, assign or transfer of a prize will be permitted. The winner’s entry, and acceptance of the prize offered constitutes permission for the Sponsor to use the winner’s name, photograph, likeness, statements, biographical information, voice and address (city and state), in all forms of media, in perpetuity, without notice or compensation.

If for any reason the operation or administration of this Contest is impaired or incapable of running as planned for any reason, including but not limited to (a) infection by computer virus or  bugs, (b) tampering, unauthorized intervention, (c) fraud, (d) technical failures, or (e) any other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest in whole or in part, at any time, without notice, and award prizes using all non-suspect eligible entries received as of, or after (if applicable) this cancellation, termination, modification or suspension date, or in any manner that is fair and equitable and best conforms to the spirit of these Rules. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual deemed to be (a) tampering or attempting to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or Sponsor’s website; or (b) acting in violation of these Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY VIOLATE CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY’S FEES) OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON (S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Failure by the Sponsor to enforce any provision of these Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.  In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be declared by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.

 

10.    RELEASE AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY. BY PARTICIPATING IN THE CONTEST, ENTRANT AGREES TO RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS THE SPONSOR AND ITS EMPLOYEES, OFFICERS, AGENTS, AFFILIATES, PARTNERS, AND REPRESENTATIVES (COLLECTIVELY, THE “RELEASED PARTIES”) FROM AND AGAINST ANY CLAIM OR CAUSE OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST OR RECEIPT OR USE OF ANY PRIZE INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: (A) ANY COMPUTER OR ELECTRONIC MALFUNCTION, SERVER UNAVAILABILITY, TECHNICAL ERRORS THAT MAY PREVENT AN ENTRANT FROM SUBMITTING AN ENTRY OR FAILURE TO RECEIVE WINNER NOTIFICATION DUE TO SPAM, JUNK E-MAIL OR OTHER SECURITY SETTINGS; (B) UNAUTHORIZED HUMAN INTERVENTION IN THE CONTEST OR LOST OR STOLEN ENTRIES; (C) ERRORS IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE CONTEST OR THE PROCESSING OF ENTRIES; (D) ANY CHANGES IN THIRD PARTY TERMS OF CONDITIONS; OR (E) ANY INJURY, DEATH, OR DAMAGE TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY WHICH MAY BE CAUSED, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, FROM ENTRANT’S PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST OR RECEIPT OF ANY PRIZE. RELEASED PARTIES ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ERROR, OMISSION, INTERRUPTION, DELETION, DEFECT, DELAY IN OPERATION OR TRANSMISSION, COMMUNICATIONS LINE FAILURE, THEFT OR DESTRUCTION OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO, OR ALTERATION OF, ENTRIES. RELEASED PARTIES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROBLEMS OR TECHNICAL MALFUNCTION OF ANY TELEPHONE NETWORK OR TELEPHONE LINES, COMPUTER ON-LINE SYSTEMS, SERVERS, OR PROVIDERS, COMPUTER EQUIPMENT, SOFTWARE, FAILURE OF ANY E-MAIL OR ENTRY TO BE RECEIVED BY SPONSOR ON ACCOUNT OF TECHNICAL PROBLEMS, HUMAN ERROR OR TRAFFIC CONGESTION ON THE INTERNET OR AT ANY WEBSITE, OR ANY COMBINATION THEREOF, INCLUDING ANY INJURY OR DAMAGE TO ENTRANT'S OR ANY OTHER PERSON'S COMPUTER RELATING TO OR RESULTING FROM PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST OR DOWNLOADING ANY MATERIALS IN THIS CONTEST. THE SPONSOR IS A GOVERNMENTAL ENTITY AND IS ENTITLED TO CERTAIN IMMUNITIES PROVIDED BY LAW. ENTRANT AGREES THAT IN ANY CAUSE OF ACTION, THE RELEASED PARTIES’ LIABILITY WILL BE LIMITED TO THE COST OF ENTERING AND PARTICIPATING IN THE CONTEST, TO THE EXTENT OF ANY LIABILITY. IN NO EVENT WILL THE RELEASED PARTIES BE LIABLE FOR ATTORNEY’S FEES. ENTRANT WAIVES THE RIGHT TO CLAIM ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PUNITIVE, CONSEQUENTIAL, DIRECT, OR INDIRECT DAMAGES. 

IN NO EVENT WILL THE RELEASED PARTIES BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES) ARISING OUT OF ENTRANT’S PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST OR THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE, OR MISUSE OF, OR ANY HARM RESULTING FROM THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF A PRIZE. BY PARTICIPATING, ENTRANTS RELEASE AND AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS THE RELEASED PARTIES FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, DEATH OR LOSSES OR DAMAGES TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY AS WELL AS CLAIMS/ACTIONS BASED ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OR PUBLICITY RIGHTS, DEFAMATION, AND/OR INVASION OF PRIVACY THAT MAY ARISE FROM PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST OR ITS RELATED ACTIVITIES OR THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF, OR ANY HARM RESULTING FROM THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE OR MISUSE OF A PRIZE. ENTRANT ACKNOWLEDGES THAT RELEASED PARTIES HAVE NEITHER MADE NOR ARE IN ANY MANNER RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION OR GUARANTEE, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN FACT OR IN LAW, RELATIVE TO ANY PRIZE.

 

11.    RIGHTS GRANTED BY ENTRANT. By participating in the Contest, Entrant grants to the Released Parties and those acting pursuant to the authority of the Sponsor and the Released Parties, the right to print, publish, broadcast and use IN ALL MEDIA IN PERPETUITY and throughout the World without limitation and remuneration at any time the Entrant’s personal information, image, photograph, voice, likeness, statements about the Contest, and/or biographical information for any purpose including, but not limited to, social media, website, news, presentation, calendar, advertising, trade and promotional purposes without payment or consideration, and without notice, review, consent, or approval. 

 

12.    COPYRIGHT.  Sponsor  and  those  acting  with  its  authority, will have unrestricted, absolute, perpetual, worldwide right and license to use Entrant’s name, address, photograph, likeness, voice,  biographical and  personal  background information,  statements,  Contest entry, and any writing, photograph, video, or other work submitted as part of the Contest entry, and, without limitation, any notes, photograph, film, or video or audio tape that may be taken of Entrant or of such materials   (the   foregoing,   collectively,   the   “Content”), without compensation, consideration, or notice or permission to Entrant or to any third party, and to reproduce, copy, modify, create derivative works of, display, perform, exhibit, distribute, transmit or broadcast, publicly or otherwise, or otherwise use and permit to be used the Content or any part thereof, whether alone or in combination with other materials (including but not limited to text, data, images, photographs, illustrations, and graphics, video or audio segments of any nature), in any media or embodiment now known or hereafter developed (including but not limited to any format of any computer-based, Internet-based, electronic, magnetic, digital, laser or  optical-based media), in connection with any Sponsor (or  its  designee’s)  advertising,  promotion,   publicity,  trade,  sweepstakes  or  contest promotions, activities, or materials.

 

13.    USE OF DATA. Sponsor’s Privacy Policy: All personal information submitted by Entrants will remain confidential. No personal information collected will be used for solicitation or sold to third party vendors. Personal information collected will be used strictly for contest correspondence.

 

By participating in the Contest and providing the Entrant’s e-mail address, Entrants hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor’s Privacy Policy. 

 

14.    DISPUTES. Except where prohibited, Entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Contest or any prize awarded will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by a court of competent jurisdiction. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Rules, the rights and obligations of Entrant, or the rights and obligations of Sponsor in connection with the Contest, will be governed by, and construed, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction.
